Question

Finding correct workflow for transcription & sending to client for rough edits

Hello -

Trying out the newish transcription features. I've got an assembly edit with all my interview clips in it and transcribe has created a transcript seems ok so far. Now I'd like to send that to my client so they can create a paper edit - question is what should I send them? Just a text file? I guess they wouldn't be able to read a prtranscript file but that would probably be the way to be able to import their cuts directly back into Premiere? Or is it best to just send a .txt export, have them mark it up then go in and select the sections they want and have Premiere create the rough cut?

I haven't been able to find this specific info so any help will be appreciated - thanks in advance!

Well, it kind of depends, that's why you have different options. Some clients are experienced with Premiere Pro, some aren't and rather open a csv in Excel or a txt in text editor. I would ask the client what their preference is.

Thanks yeah they've got no Premiere experience so I suppose a straight text file is the way I was just wondering if there's a way for them to be able to mark stuff up and have Premiere automatically pick up the changes and create the rough cut without using the prtranscript option which they wouldn't be able to read...thx
