Everytime I'm attempting to backup the Premiere Pro project for transfer I'm receiveing this error that reads:
"The following file could not be found during the Project Manager operation: \\?\C:\Users\myusername\Desktop etc etc"
I've no idea what's causing this as the file works perfectly in my timeline and I'm desperate to get this project collected so I can share it with my team. What the heck is going on?
It's a .wav file if that helps but I have had other problems with linking of files in Premiere and fixed them by putting my media cache on the desktop.
Thanks!
why not just manually add the .wav file to your "collected" files and manually reconnect... You'd probably have to delete the clip before doing the project manage... Also, wondering if there's an issue with the file. Maybe transcode to aiff and replace in your project and see if that solves the problem.
Project Manager won't push through with consolidation after seeing the error. So no files are copied over by Premiere. This is not the correct answer

Of course, this would be the simplest solution, but it's an adobe product. So it will design problems and glitches within itself that can't be resolved with logical solutions or in this case, from any intervention WHATSOEVER from the user. This is because when the Project Manager process gives you this error message the entire process will fail and not consolidate ANYTHING. You go back to look at your selected folder for consolidation and it's completely empty. In my case it's even worse, because Project Manager is doing this with a file that NO LONGER EXISTS in my project! I have since, rendered out the image sequence, renaimed it, relocated it and replaced it in the project. The original file that was supposedly causing the issue (which doesn't make sense because the file worked fine and was locatable through all search methods WITHIN Premeire...) is not even in the project anymore. Sooo... basically, it's just telling me "nope". Another glorious, Adobe Premiere, project-killing bug for the books.

I had the same issue with the contents that I use in my Essential Graphics which I made using an image named "question.png". Every time I wanted to back up my project via Project Manager, it gave me the same error saying that the file could not be found during the operation, even though it worked perfectly in the project or during rendering process. I located the file in the Project Panel where we import and list the files that we use in the project, and right-clicked it to replace the footage. I reconnected the files through these steps and it worked for me.
Here are some footages:
