I am looking for a particular font - Helvestica Now Pro.  Is this available to download for Premiere Pro 2018 (Mac)?  How would I go about installing?  Thanks!

Hello Kevin:

I called Adobe support and the engineer I spoke iwth says that Helvetica Now Pro is not available with Adobe.

As a result, I have a three-part question as I am stuck:

1) Is there a 3rd party vendor that has this font?

2) How would I install?  I have one machine running PPCC 2019 through 2025 and one machine running PPCC 2018.

3) Is there any alternative font that is similar to Helvetica Now Pro?

Thanks,

Kenneth Davis

Hi,

I gave you links to the resources you are seeking. For a free alternative font that is similar, do a search on the Adobe Fonts website and you'll see some options. I am fairly certain you'll find a viable alternative. I hope the info helps.

Thanks.
Kevin

Kevin,

I see that.  I have the needed fonts from a third party and free to use.  Is it also possible to install these on the Mac running PPCC 2018?  the interface is different and the Font options are not loading.  Apologies for coming off as if I do not know, I appreciate your help and your efforts.

Thanks for the reply, @procuts2. You might be up against a fairly recent problem where certain kinds of fonts are no longer supported. See this article: https://helpx.adobe.com/fonts/kb/postscript-type-1-fonts-end-of-support.html#:~:text=As%20announced%.... Do you think that could be your issue? Let the community know.

Thanks,
Kevin

Helvetica Now Pro is a Monotype font available here..

As Kevin says, if you don't need an exact match there are many alternatives.  Nimbus Sans is very close, and is available from Adobe here.

Nibus seems to do the trick... but how can we get a new font on the 2018 version?

The issue is the version of the Creative Cloud has its Font area choking due to end of life support.

Yeah, I don't really know what's going on with Adobe.  They used to be really good at fonts, but now they're cutting away support for a format that will orphan ~20% of all typefaces, and they're still ten years behind on color emoji support

I seem to be unable to reply lower in the tree.

You suggest that

I called Adobe support and the engineer I spoke iwth says that Helvetica Now Pro is not available with Adobe.

The support engineer is incorrect.

The problem is that there are a series of font formats, and Adobe is getting rid of support for an older one, which that font is encoded as.

This is actually just fine.  Another font format, OTF, is upwards compatible, and font converters exist (such as FontSquirrel.)

Just take your font and have it converted to OTF.  That version will work fine.

All:

I found the simplest solution:

1) Library ---> Fonts ---> Copy and Paste new Fonts.  Done!  Thank you all!
