the post title says it all really. Sony updated the Venice 2 in january 2023, and highly recommended all users apply the update.  The X-OCN mxf files the camera records now show up as black or missing footage in premiere pro. The ocn settings do not appear in effect controls and the footage cannot be exported by media encoder.

we are using the latest premiere 23.1.0 on Mac, Apple silicon version

we are very much hoping Adobe has a fix coming extremely soon!

Anyone seen an update to this issue?

Currently running Premiere Version 23.2.0 (Build 69) and having this exact current issue. X-OCN mxf files from Sony Venice 2 show up as black footage when imported into Premiere, and run a constant stream of "error retrieving frame" codes. Footage can not be interpreted into Media Encoder as well, so no way to at least render proxies to work through footage.

Have done the usually work arounds of clearing media cache, making sure your updated, restart, etc..

The footage can be viewed in Sony RAW Viewer, so it exists as it should.

Would hope Premiere resolved this issue by now given this post was from 2 months ago. Any leads?

We'd need a staffer like @Fergus Hammond to help with that.

fwiw, Sony has a history of having things which cause issues in Premiere...    Want to post a short clip and I'll see if I see the same behavior or not.  I'm running a brand new macstudio fwiw.   You can send me a direct message by clicking on my user name at the beginning of my post if you want to send me a link...

Sometimes I think there are probably ways to change the settings in the camera that might solve sony issues, but never had a chance to actually work on these sort of issues BEFORE a shoot...  In the midst of providing support on a large documentary shoot with many multicamera 4k interviews shot on a variety of cameras... luckily, everything at least has the same framerate but we had some serious issues with color space on SOME of the material shot on Sony cameras...  This forum has been an incredible resource solving or working around these issues so stick around and hopefully we can help.
