Frame rate changing at export

So i've changed the frame rate of some video footage from 25fps to 23.98 via modify>interpret footage.

Yet from the export settings, no matter which codec I select, the only option is to export at 23.976fps. How do I render at 23.98 as specified in 'interpret footage'?

23.98 is 23.976.  The term 23.98 is used as shorthand for 23.976 by (mostly) audio people, but it is used as verbal shorthand to indicate that you are not shooting at full 24 fps. but rather 23.976.

I did not know this: when you modify a file via Right Click -> Modify -> Interpret Footage, you are not given a drop down of frame rates - you type in what you want. So type in 23.976 - it abbreviates it as 23.98.  Type in 23.98, it shows 23.98, right? So what do you actually have...?

Look in the Project Panel with the Preview Area showing. Your footage shows as 23.976, whether you typed 23.976 or 23.98!

I was going to suggest that you could also look to see what the framerate actually was by looking at the file Properties (right click -> properties), but that shows the actual file rate - still 29.97 in the sample I was testing.

I've never seen 23.98 anywhere ... why do you need that frame-rate?
