Gaussian blur mask not tracking

Explorer ,
Dec 27, 2024 Dec 27, 2024

Hey everyone,

I've been doing a lot of blurring recently, and i'm often encountering this issue whereby the Gaussian blur effect won't track forward. See the attached screenshot. I draw my mask, hit track selected mask forward (or whatever the exact wording is) and then I get stuck in this tracking progress screen, where no progress is ever made.

How can I fix this?

Thanks!

Fin

I think you're going to need to supply more info than that.

- I'm using Premiere Pro 24.6.1

- MacOS 13.2.1

- MacBook Pro, Apple M2 Pro, 16 GB RAM

- I'm working on a 29.97 timeline, 1080p. Same issue has come up when I'm working on a 4k 29.97 timeline.

- The issue is when I add the gaussian blur effect to a clip on timeline, and then mask the inteded blur area, I cannot track the mask forward. I just get stuck on this tracking progress loading bar, which never moves.

Hey Fin DePencier,

Sorry for the issue. I'm curious to know if this happens with a specific file type. Please share what type of source file you're working with (Codec, frame rate, frame size, source), and let us know if you can test this on the most recent version of Premiere Pro. Please also check this article on best practices for mask tracking: https://adobe.ly/4fHkbfY.

Thanks,

Ishan

Hey @Ishan Y, the issue does persist across different file types. last week this was a problem with XAVC 4k 10 bit 4:2:2 footage, now it's doing the same with some random 1080p footage.

Is there any other information I should provide that could help you?
