GoPro Hero Max Footage Randomly Turning Black When Editing with GoPro FX Reframe

Hi,

I guess I should clarify, that when I say the footage is turning black, I mean the preview of the footage in the program monitor will be completely black. And it isn't just a visual bug within the Program Monitor either. If I export the footage, the result is all black as well (again, for the 360 footage. the normal footage is fine).

I've been using adobe premiere to edits my videos for a while now. Normally my videos consist of GoPro action footage as well as some drone. Recently I've been videoing with the 360 camera, GoPro Hero Max. The footage it takes is remarkable and I was so happy to hear there was a plug in to edit the 360 footage within Premiere. Except things haven't been super smooth trying to edit it...

The actual process of editing the 360 footage is surprisingly easy and I can understand it fairly well despite not doing anything too fancy with it. But the problem starts when I go to correct an edit I've made or add additional effects on one clip. I'm not sure if it has to deal with my sequence settings or what but I am editing normal video and the 360 video on the same timeline. Also, near the beginning of the video, I have an adjustment layer that lays over the normal GoPro footage as well as the 360 footage so that I can have a black and white "effect" transition from the start at 0% opacity and end with 100% opacity so that the end result is black and white fading to color. (I'm unsure of a better way to do this).

This is where the issues started, and I have no way of knowing whether it was the adjustment layer that caused it or not because the 360 footage doesn't start until after. I've attached a snip of this portion of the timeline but it may not be of much help because I practically butchered it later on trying to figure out why my footage (only the 360) was turning black (it was one adjustment layer but I make mulitple cuts in it, thinking that seperating them where the clips transitioned it would stop the issue).

If I recall, the only way to fix the black screen was to go back to a previous save or undo and hope it works. It may even have something to do with the clip unrendering when I make an edit to it. If it did go black, it would effect not only that clip, but other 360 clips on the timeline as well, even if they weren't anywhere near the edit made.

I have seen one post about this. Multiple people responded to it asking why it was happening and if anyone had an answer. I believe the post was from 2023 and I can provide the link. I'm not sure if this is a common occurance with third party plugins or what but I just want to be able to finish my video without having to stop constantly and undo my edits.

If anyone knows anything, that would be amazing.

Thanks
