GPU Acceleration not available in PP CC 2019_02

Hi Kevin or and STAFF.

Telling people to update the software is not a solution. You do have an issue with your software.

Try to look farther then just seeing your product. Look to your competitors, Blackmagic's Davinci/Fusion FCP/Motion.

You can keep protecting your self by shifting over the real issue, but as creator I'm moving on and shifting my work over to your competitors.

My clients are going with me and what they see is a save a good chunk of money as well.

Be aware! I'm sure you have great programmers, but listen to us the creators, your consumers.

Thanks.

Hi A Noori,

Thanks for the post. We listen and value the feedback.

There has been a lot of movement around GPU drivers. Unfortunately, there have been many changes on the OS, hardware and software level and this has resulted in some unfortunate issues. We are definitely actively working on these issues.

In many of these cases, multiple GPUs and drivers are involved. There are many variables including OS, graphics card, OpenCL, Metal, CUDA, etc.

For dual GPU laptops, Intel GPUs are an important factor and required driver updates have been delayed and not accessible enough for users.

We have been working internally and with partners to address these issues and we are making progress.

If anyone is still experience issues getting GPU acceleration to work, please consider reaching out to support. If you prefer to work within this thread,  please list your computer configuration and GPU driver and many people will be happy to assist.

Check out the Davinci Resolve User Forum.  Their program also has problems for some users.

I’d rather have issues with free software than with software I pay a fortune to use every month. at least with Da Vinci, I know where I stand straight off the bat. It’s free. Premier on the other hand is a whole different ball game.

Puget Systems has found a performance problem with the Nvidia drivers released since January on all software. Check their site for details. That could be affecting some rigs.

äähhhh, what do you want to tell us with this "information" ??

I was there but could not find anything related to our adobe-problem.

can you please provide a specific link, so we can share your insight .

If you take a look at the startingpoint of this thread, you will find it beginning in 2018 before the, mentioned by you, nvidia release.

From long experience on this and other forums, long threads on issues like this will normally involve users with similar to different issues. Quite frequently when someone adds in saying they're having the exact same problem, after their details get listed, it might be something the cause of which is not even related to the main thread.

So adding information that may be of assistance to similar issues is rather typical. For many users, this is "a GPU problem thread". And they will look through for information on GPU problems. Puget Systems has discovered a major problem with recent Nvidia GPU drivers.
