You've posted in the non-tech supported Lounge.   Which software are you using?   eg: Photoshop, Muse, Dreamweaver, Animate CC, etc...

I will assume you are trying to import it into Premiere. There is issues importing .mov files into Premiere.

Try the info in these two links for further details:

Solved – Premiere Pro CC/CS6/CS5 Won’t Import .MOV Files | Media Compatibility Solutions

Premiere Pro CC 2015.3/2017 Bug — won’t accept MOV Video | Personal Entertainment SNS

Hope that helps .....

The one thing that makes a huge difference no matter whether this is After Effects, Premiere Pro, Premiere Elements, or Photoshop (or any other app), is what codec that video was created with. MOV is just a wrapper for any of dozens (hundreds?) of different codec possibilities.

Once you know where the movie is going and what format you need, you can drag and drop the .mov file into Adobe Media Encoder, click a Preset, select a name and location, and convert the .mov file into another format by hitting the green play button.

That's good if the OP has a Cloud subscription (or even the old Premiere Pro CS6) which includes AME

If he has Premiere Elements, I don't think AME is included (but, I don't know that)

No one has mentioned Handbrake yet.  There's a better than average chance it will convert your particular .MNOV file to a more user friendly .MP4 and it is free

I had this message with a old version of Adobe Media Encoder, and after having installed QuickTime, it became ok
