Hi there, I have to caption a number of videos of meetings that are recorded from Microsfot teams. (or sometimes Zoom). As such the video seems to have auto-transcription included, which seems to import automatically as it shows up in the Transcript window in Premiere Pro.
What I am wanting to do is change the speaker names (from Speaker 1 and 2 etc) however I don't have the three dots beside the Speaker name that I believe I should see to be able to edit the transcript?
I'm sure there is a way to do this but I can't seem to figure it out so any help would be much appreciated.

You’re encountering an issue editing speaker names in Adobe Premiere Pro. Here are some steps and tips based on community discussions and official Adobe documentation that might help you resolve this:

◦ Editing Speaker Names:
◦ In the Source Transcript, select the icon (three dots) next to the speaker name. If you don’t see the three dots, ensure you are in the correct transcript type. Select “Edit speaker name” and update the names as needed.
◦ Generate Static Transcript:
◦ If you are working with a sequence and cannot edit the speaker names, try generating a static transcript. Select the timeline/Program Monitor, click the three dots in the Transcript tab, and choose “Generate Static Transcript.” This should allow you to edit the speaker names.
◦ Software Version:
◦ Ensure you use the latest version of Premiere Pro, as updates can sometimes resolve these issues. If the problem persists, consider restarting Premiere Pro or your computer and logging out and back into your Adobe account.
◦ Community Insights:
◦ Some users have reported intermittent issues with editing speaker names. If the problem continues, you might want to check community forums for additional troubleshooting steps or contact Adobe support for further assistance.
I hope these steps help you resolve the issue! If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask. 😊
Thanks,
Kevin
