HEVC codec issues..

Originally when I tried to import the footage it gave me an error saying I need the HEVC codec. Then I bought the codec from the windows store that would supposedly fix it. But now I am getting a generic file import error. I really don't want to have to convert a 58gb file if I don't have to. Not to mention there are several other similar files I may need to pull from.

You don't need to buy/install the codec, comes with the program (not supported in trial version)

Besides the codec from MS does not work with Premiere.

Might be something else going on.

Delete the Media Cache and Media Cache files:

Then try removing the parenthesis ( ) from the file name and import again.
