New Here ,
Oct 19, 2023 Oct 19, 2023

I have downloaded the new Premiere Pro, the audio sounds perfect in playback but when I am exporting it is coming out like the speakers are on helium / very high pitched.

Any help?

I encountered this same problem. This is what worked for me:

1. Create a new sequence in the same project

2. Copy and paste all items from the old sequence to the new one

3. Export the new sequence

I am having the same issue! When I export (though PP or Media Encoder) the audio is higher pitched and has a bit of crackel to it. This also happens to the audio in the timeline but ONLY after I've exported it. When I restart PP the issue is gone but reappears when I export.

Hi, I tried what Peru Bob suggested and still having issues myself. Here what the audio is sounding like each time i export (over ten times with different settings) playback in editor is fine and to show the client ive had to screen record which isnt ideal. Issue is persistent and has been an issue for a few months now. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/as368ncc23za71cm8tet4/D-M-vertical-V6.mp3?rlkey=v4bzb5b54qtpwm3667wch... and using m1 pro mac so hope this can be resolved.

I'm having the exact same problem as default4n9.  My laptop is a M2 pro on Sonoma 14.2.1.  sounds fine in the program window but in export, subjects are high pitched but the speed of there delivery is normal, also there is a lot of cliping.  Has anyone found a solution?

Please use the free MediaInfo and post a screenshot of the properties of your media in tree view:

Many users are having issues with VFR. If the file is variable frame rate, use Handbrake to convert to constant frame rate before importing into Premiere Pro:

Here is a tutorial:

Shutter Encoder may also be used to convert to Constant Frame Rate:

Good day,

Thanks for the reply, I'll give your suggestions a try and reply back with results and or the properties of the media.  The media did come from a Zoom recording, which seems to change properties depending on the host's internet speed(from what I've seen).

Thanks again, I'll be back ...

Good morning all,

So I still have this same problem on export, but because I needed to complete my project in a timely manner, my solution was to go back to Premiere pro version 2022, to get it done.  Using handbrake, to covert varitable frame rate to constant frame rate will probably work, so give that a try as a solution, but I can't see that as a practical long term solution going forward, expecially if you need to finish numerous clips for a long form projects.  I'll just wait it out in the earlier versions of PP until Adobe finds a fix for this problem.  Good luck all and happy editing!

And thank you again Peru Bob for your help and suggestion.

Delete the Media Cache and Media Cache files:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/faq-how-to-clear-your-media-cache-in-30-seconds-in-premi...

If that doesn't work, try resetting the preferences:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/faq-how-to-reset-trash-preferences-in-premiere-pro/td-p/...

If that doesn't work, try Preferences > Audio Hardware and set Input to None.

If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.

Funnily enough this worked. I first tried reverting my 2024 save to an older premiere on my other computer and that worked but some of the crackling and other audio artifacting remained. But making a new sequence was clean.
Thanks for the suggestion, sometimes is the simplest things that work.
I'm always surprised when this method works, because it really doesn't make sense that it would.

Creating a new sequence and copy/pasting everything over solved my problem as well. Thank you!

This has happened to me twice now, from a Zoom import and StreamYard. - The new sequence trick worked last time, but not this time. This time, I had a did a render/replace on a portion of the audio and that fixed it.
Hope that helps someone else. - Adobe please fix this!!

This happened again. - Perform a Render and Replace on the first segment, then export the audio. This appears to be another work-around.
