How can I change the font to multiple titles at the same time?

Engaged ,
Oct 26, 2014 Oct 26, 2014

Hey guys, quick question. I have a bunch of titles and lower thirds in my project and my producer decided that he didn't like the font we were previously using and wants to change it to a new one. He seems to do that pretty often. Is there a way to "globally" change the font to multiple title cards at the same time instead of clicking on each one separately and doing it manually for each one? And if there is no way to do that does anyone have any ideas on how to make it easier?

Ok, I'm aware this is 2 years after but I found a way and it's definitely much more efficient than editing everything on InDesign (at least for me, since there's no back and forth).

1. Do your graphic as you want it.

2. Select it, and save it as a new Master Style.
-- Master Styles will save into the project files.

3. Select the graphics you want to change the style for.

--Look for the Style in project files aaand

4. Drag and drop the preferred style onto any of them, all selected graphics will take t

Charge by the hour and it may not be easier... but you will feel better about changing them.

What do you expect...an automatic way to do this?  a plug in?

You change the Font and  design-wise...you change everything about spacing , positioning , kerning etc...

Only way is ..one by one.

Take the money and smile.  As helpful as I can get.  Sorry.

I'm not sure why you just assumed I'm charging by the hour. Some of us actually prefer the stability of having a salary. So you're actually extremely not helpful here. All title cards are exactly the same, just different information. I want to know if there's a way to universally change the font of all of them together. If that results in having to adjust them or move them later on that that's cool. At least I won't have to click on that long list of fonts 500 times so it will still be a time saver!!

If you have any idea of design and fonts you would understand that "Title Cards" are not "exactly the same" if you change the font... because all fonts are not equal! Lower thirds are probably even more restrictive because they have design elements in them.

If you work with "change their mind producers"...the deal that goes with that is suck up their changes. (on a salary or otherwise)

I was just saying there is no way without scripting ..to change a title ( graphic) en masse ( in Premiere) and get it working because of font differences.

A slight time saver is to type in or paste in the new font name you want into the font window and press enter. At least you won't have to scroll down through the fonts.

Put it in a Feature Request/Bug Report Form  to let those developers know what you like to see in the next version.

Not sure if it works for previous version, I'm on the latest Premiere CC 12.0

That's an very good idea. Recently i discovered that the arrows, right from the master style selector thing, are used to push updates to the master style (override) (up arrow) and to update the selected title with the master style (down arrow). So you can change all titles with the same master style at onc.

Sorry OG,

"Zombie threads from 2014" might throw you off in the future. If you are entering the forums from your favorite search engine, keep in mind that these ancient threads are surfaced more easily than a current solution. Sorry about that. I'll try and make this a bit better experience for users in the coming year.

Thanks,
Kevin
