How can I time re-map a transition preset without re-mapping the footage content

I'm using some transition presets downloaded from Motion Array, that come as a series of placeholder comps nested inside eachother, with the bottom-most nest the one where you replace your own footage.

I would like to use time-remapping to speed up the transition comp (top-most) without it affecting the speed of the footage contained inside. Any way to do this?

Only thing I can think of is setting the speed/duration as a percentage and then going to the footage and changing the speed/duration of that as well to compensate but is there a more elegant solution?
