How to align a PNG to the edge of the frame?

All the tutorials I can find for how to align anything requires re-importing the image through the Essential Graphics panel, but I already have the PNG in the timeline with animated effects, so that isn't practical.  Isn't it possible to align something that's already on the timeline?  Is it isn't possible, is it possible to manually move it?  I haven't used this program in a few years, but I remember that you can select and move things, I thought by holding shift, but maybe it's another key.  Could anyone tell me how I can do this?  Ideally, I'd like to select the PNG and have access to the align tools.  Thank you!

To move a .png or an image that's already in the timeline try double clicking on it from the Program Monitor (where the final video plays back) instead of clicking on the timeline. You should be able to select and move the .png freely at this point. To align it to the edge of the frame just hold the command key (⌘) while repositioning it. Red lines should pop up to help you align it properly. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your help, Octobee5, that worked!  But still, is there any way to get the Align panel without re-importing through Essential Graphics?

You dont need the EGP: make sure the Snap in Program Monitor is on.

I agree with Ann.

But I was curious: I think you need to have an EGP instance created. Then just drag the png from the Project Panel to the layer area in the EGP. It creates a new layer. Delete any unneeded layer.

Yes, thank you, Ann, I did have the guides, so snapping must be already on.  Still, not as streamlined a process as having the Align panel handy, but it works, so all's good.
Stan, I haven't tried that way.  It sounds like it would make a new instance of the PNG in the timeline and I'd loose the animation keys, but I could get them back by copying/pasting attributes from the old PNG layer.
Thank you both!  🙂

Correct; you would lose the keys.
