Hi everyone,
I recently updated my BMPCC 6K with the new 7.3.1 Blackmagic update which installs the Gen5 colour science. I've been trying to work with it in Premiere Pro and while a lot of the stuff works, I have some issues with colour grading. Filming in the "film" setting, I need to push the saturation by 200-250% to get pleasing skin colours and this is after exposure corrections using curves. What am I doing wrong here? Is this normal?
Premiere is up to date and I've installed the latest version of the Blackmagic plugin. I just can't imagine this is the new normal for this footage, so clearly I am missing something.
I've been searching for answers online but haven't found an answer yet. I'd really appreciated the help because I'm stress eating way too many peanuts. Thanks!

This BMD color science anomaly is the first case I've heard of, tobiasp. Sorry man! Is it possible to upload a short sample clip? I can forward the footage along to engineering for testing. If not, I understand. I'll keep a sharp eye out for similar cases. Please file a bug here if you have a moment: https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911233-premiere-pro
You might also try the Autokroma plug-in as an alternative to the free BMD plug-in. Perhaps that would work better for you.
Thanks,
Kevin

Long-time BMPCC4K user here, having no such troubles with Gen5 color. But then, I use the Autokroma plugin, which I've found to be far better overall than the BMD one. And they even give better support for the BMD plugin in Premiere than BMD ... !
So, Gen5 should be working, no clue why it isn't ... I know I can select gen4 or gen5 in the Autokroma plugin, make sure the BMD one is set to gen5 if you can. Only thing I can think of.
Neil
