How to make a single clip fade to all white over time?

I've been chugging along using the full version of Premiere Pro CC for a couple of months now and I need to make an object image in my new intro change from it's natural colors to pure white over a short period of time just before it explodes with electricity, I have tried the color change effect but this doesn't seem to work with the color white for some reason... Please help asap! Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks a bunch This is just what I was looking for! Now I can try playing around with it until I get the results I need! I'm still not very familiar with most transitions as they aren't normally needed for most videos I make
