Hi All,
Is there any way to make the Frame.io extension upload workflow use HW rather than SW encoding? What I mean is when I upload the active sequence, the extension launches Media Encoder to create the video for upload but that encoding uses SW rather than HW.
This takes a lot longer than encoding with HW for my sequence (we'll at least with my output settings) and I'd like to try and decrease that time.

Here's what I did for myself.
1. In the Frame.io panel I selected Upload > Active Sequence. And under Preset I selected "Web 1080" and then click upload.
2. After Media Encoder was done encoding that Frame.io job I reset the status of the job in Media Encoder and then changed the export settings from Software to Hardware encoding - and whatever else I wanted to change.
3. I then saved the preset with a specific name.
4. Then I exported the preset to a specific place on my hard drive I knew I c

5. I went to Premiere and went back to the Frame.io panel. And again clicked upload active sequence.
6. Next to Preset I pulled down that menu and selected "Select Preset File" and then navigated to the ".epr" file I saved earlier.
7. Now I have a custom preset in the frame.io panel.
I hope that helps you.

Thanks - Appreciate the response - Frame.io support came back to me and said basically the same thing.

Should have added their link as well - Upload a sequence with a custom render preset
