How to output movie to a different frame rate without time interpolation

I have a simple answer but it seems that the answer is hard to find on the internet.

How do I render out a sequence to a different framerate the automatic time interpolation?

There is no button to be found to do that.

Here is the problem.

imported footage in premiere is 24 fps (no audio). sequence footage is 24 fps. (no audio)

The thing is that the actual footage should run at 25 fps. So the initial imported footage has a wrong fps.

But because the imported footage and the sequence have the same 24 fps, there was no frame interpolation, the only thing was that the edited sequence is running a bit slower then it should. Now I would like to render the sequence to 25 fps, without time interpolation so that the movie runs at the speed that it should.

But in premiere i can't find this option.

Right click on the clip in the project panel and select 'Modify' then change the fps to 25.

Thank you for your reply but :

That changed my frame count on the sequence time line from 11711 to 12198.

So that means that some frame interpolation happened and I don't want that.

So the number of frames on my sequence is completely correct, its the framerate that is wrong. So I want to keep my number of frame the same (11711) but I need to have it run at 25 fps instead of 24 fps

Did you make a new 'sequence from clip' from the new 25 fps converted file?

Hi Richard, if I do that, won't that make me a new empty sequence and lose my editing?

After reading a lot on the internet, it seems that when you start editing in a sequence with a certain fps, then it's as good as impossible to change the sequence fps without destroying the editing. Most people say that you need to start all over again. So I don't think that changing the fps of the sequence (or/and fps of the imported movie (interprete footage)) is going to be the solution for me. (unless i'm overlooking something). The solution for me should be in the export of the timeline. But i don't see any encoder options where I can turn off frame interpolation.

Export your 24 fps edit to a 24fps intermediate file, high quality Prores or DNxHD. Using the modify clip convert this file to 25fps and make a new sequence from that. Export your final file from the 25 fps sequence at 25 fps. Might work.

Yes, that sounds like a fair workaround. A bit cumbersome and not very ideal to do this for a whole list of sequences that I spend hours on. But at the moment this does sound like the only workaround available. Thanks.

I'm sure there are programs that will re-write the file metadata to convert your 24 fps export to read as 25.
