How to vignette the bottom of a video?

Community Beginner ,
Jan 07, 2020 Jan 07, 2020

Hi,

I am trying to vigentte only the bottom of the video to bring more focus into the video and make the subtitles stick out that little bit more.

I can't work out how to solely vigentte the bottom, as some news outlets etc would do.

I am using Premiere Pro 2017.

Thanks for responses in advance.

Buld the vignette in Photoshop and lay it over on the track above.

One way:

Go the File > New > Black Video and create a clip of black.

Place the black clip above the video clip in the timeline you want to vignette.

Use the Opacity Mask to draw the shape of the vignette and how feathered you want the effect:

And control the transparency of the mask by adjusting the mask opacity.

- Create a black solid and put in timeline.
- In panel Effects Control / Opacity, create a ellipse mask, invert it with the checkbox and open it from it points.
- Add a mask feather value.
- If needed add a transparency value.
