How to zoom without changing scale

Hello! 
I have pictures with frames around them, and I want to zoom in on the pictures but without changing the pictures sizes. I have tried to nest the picture and create a subsequence of it, but when dragging in the nest in the sequence, it still changes the size of the picture and thus covers the frame. Is there anyone whos got a tip?

The shape is the same size as the picture frame.

Assets can be animated separately.

    A bit more of an explanation would be helpful in understanding what I'm seeing over here.

    Ok ... look at the order of the layer stack in the EGP Edit tab's top panel ... the picture frame, the shape, and the image top to bottom.

     

    Top covers bottom, just like having a clip on V2 blocks the clip on V1 ... unless there's opacity or some other effect, right?

     

    So the picture frame will completely show always.

     

    Below that is that shape, made and positioned to fill precisely to the inner edges of the frame. It's just made by adding a New/Rectangle in that panel, then setting size & position.

     

    Then ... note the red highlight around the "mask with shape" option. This makes the shape a mask, rather than a visible object.

     

    Below that is the image that fills that shape as mask. And you can size, position, even animate that layer of the stack of course.

     

    With this setup, you can then even select all three in the layer stack, "Group" ... and they can then be moved as a single unit.

    If you have an opacity mask on the track, that is set to allow the inside through and block the outside, changing the image position/scaling parameters should not affect the mask size or position at all.

      Yes, I guess you don't need keyframes for the opacity mask.

      Use the crop effect on the pictures and keyframe the amount of crop.

      You can also keyframe an opacity mask on the pictures.
