Question

I press stop during timeline playback and it just keeps going for 30-45 seconds!

Windows 10, NVIDIA 2090, 64g RAM, PP V 25.3

80% of the time, when I'm playing back video on the timeline, I'll press stop and the audio will keep on going for another 30-45 seconds. I can save the project, I can move the mouse cusor around, I can do other things in PP, but it seems the audio must continue playing for some time, before it finally stops. The video freezes during this, BTW.

This is killing my productivity!

Delete the Media Cache and Media Cache files:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/faq-how-to-clear-your-media-cache-in-30-seconds-in-premiere-pro-2020/m-p/11017257/thread-id/260446?page=1

If that doesn't work, try resetting the preferences:

If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.

@Flame2bits , what else can you tell us about your system, hardware and media, that may help us give you some suggestions. Most people are not experiencing that, so, it's usually something on a individual machine that contributes to that. Neither of you two even noted your cpu's! That's an important bit, etc...

Take a look at this thread: Info needed for a bug / tech support
