Importing Procreate mp4 with transparent background into Premiere

Has anyone found a solution for how to import a Procreate mp4 with transparent background into Premiere, or even After Effects?

Correct answer Allen Birnbach

Just in case someone else looks for the answer, I found something on YouTube. Apparently the file has to be exported as an animated HEVC file, a new option in Procreate, then turn off the background.

After trying everything i found online, the only solutions i found are exporting png-animated-sequence but this is a real pain if you have long animations... The other option I then used was to add a greenscreen and remove it in Premiere Pro with the effect "chroma keying".

As far as I am concerned there is no easier solution.

Hope this helps.

What "state" the alpha channel is in, is crucial. I'm not an expert on them, but there are two states ... pre-mutilplied, or not. One type works, in Premiere, the other doesn't.

AfterEffects, as a compositing app, can work with either with the correct settings. So I've had a couple things like this over the years that I had Ae wiz friends that said import that clip to Ae, set this to this so it changes the alpha channel 'type', and voila! Premiere could see it correctly. Knowing how to work that might fix your issue.

Allen, I've never even heard of that. Do you have a link?

Thanks,

Had to look that up to figure out what it is ... not being a Mac person.

So ... what's the file like? MediaInfo is something normally used to get a look 'into' a file, to see what the full data on file contents are.

And a transparent background ... is that a full alpha channel?
