Question

Inconsistent Timeline Render Bar

Premiere 13.1.4

18 Core iMac Pro

128 GB Ram

Media is on Fiber attached SAN with 2500 MB/s Up & 2800 MB/s Down

I have a project, shot on Alexa where all of my media matches. It was shot 3840x2160 ProRes 4444. When I bring this footage into my project and string it out onto a timeline, after disabling master clip effects, the majority of this footage shows no render bar, but a few clips show a yellow bar.

Why would some clips, but not others have the yellow bar if the footage matches exactly? Any ideas? I can't find any difference between the clips. All the default LUTS are disabled and there are zero effects on them. Nothing is scaled and no speed changes.

Thoughts?

Use DogEars to determine whether you're dropping frames or not: https://www.dellemc.com/resources/en-us/asset/white-papers/products/storage/h17334-wp-isilon-adobe-premiere-pro-config-optimization-guide.pdf

If you're not dropping frames and the FramePrefetchLatency is fine, don't worry about the color of the indicator bar.

Interesting, never seen this before. What is odd is that the Premiere dropped frame indicator will show dropped frames when DogEars does not. Any idea why that might be?

Sounds like a bug. Can you take a screen recording of that behavior?
