Is it possible to rate stretch and ripple at the same time?

so that if I stretch a clip shorter, the next clip moves left to close the gap.
or when I strettch a clip to the right, all clips forward moves to the right.

I'm not at my editing computer now to try it, but I wonder if holding either the shift, alt, or ctrl keys while rate stretching might work?
