Issue with Importing MKV Files in Adobe Premiere Pro and Media Encoder
I am encountering a persistent issue with importing MKV files into Adobe Premiere Pro and Media Encoder. Previously, I was able to import and edit MKV files without any problems. However, after reinstalling my operating system (Windows 11 Pro) and the latest versions of Adobe Premiere Pro and Media Encoder, I can no longer import MKV files.
Whenever I attempt to import an MKV file, I receive the following error:
"The file has an unsupported compression type."
Here are some additional details:
- All my MKV files were working fine before the OS reinstallation.
- I have already tried updating all my drivers, including GPU drivers, and ensured my system is up to date.
- The issue persists across all Adobe applications, but I can import and work with the same MKV files in other software, such as DaVinci Resolve.
- The issue occurs regardless of the size or duration of the MKV file.
I have also installed all necessary codecs and tried resetting the preferences in Premiere Pro, but nothing has resolved the issue.
