Keyframe Help

So with my current situation, I'm trying to move an image to one point over a period of time, have it stay there for a few seconds, and then move it somewhere else. My problem is that it keeps jumping to the next key frame immediately after reaching the first one. I tried putting a key frame in between the two of them with the same location as the previous key frame, but that ended up making the object move in place when I want it to stay still. Can someone help me with this? Thanks.

make sure your Temporal interpolation is set to Linear, not Hold. Also, are there any speed effects on the clip? Time remapping? Nest the clip first and then apply the animation if this is the case.
