Question

Loading Premiere Project into another Premiere Project

Hello,

I created a lower third in Premiere (with no audio), saved it as a project and I import it into every other project I create.

Every time I load it into another project, an audio bar appears underneath it and I have to unlink and delete it.

Also, the lower third it's not at its full duration when I load it into the other projects, so every time I have to click and drag it in order for the whole clip to appear.

I know these are not hard to do but when you use it in a lot of projects, resolving the above would save a lot of time.

Hope this makes sense.

Thank you!

Just tried.

It doesn't seem to matter how you save it in original project.

IN your new project, after you have imported the sequence, you can then go into the audio channels menu and uncheck all the channel/clip mapping. Then it will drag to the timeline without audio.

Alternatively, rebuild the lower third without the color matte - instead put it in as a new layer the Essential Graphics object. Then 'Upgrade to Master Graphic' from the Graphics dropdown which will create a project item. Then when you import the sequence into a new project it will come in as a project item which you can drag down without audio.

OK. I will have to go now but I will try out what you say once back on my pc!

Thank you so much, I appreciate it! Seems like you have a lot of experience!

Again, thank you!

For the audio issue try this:

In the Lower Third project, right click the sequence in the project panel and choose Modify>Audio channels. In the dialogue set the number of audio clips to 0. Then save and try again.

As shown in the first image, in the original Lower Third project, there is no audio...so I cannot proceed with the above unfortunately... the audio appears only when I load this project into another project.

Are you copying and pasting it from a timeline in the old project? Type tool objects don't appear as project items.

No. What I did was to create a title in essential graphics , then saved this a s a Premiere project - closed it - and when I need it I import it into my other projects. This way I can edit the title too.

This is my lower third - Please see below:

When I import it into another project this is what it looks like:

Have you tried exporting it as a Motion Graphics Template from the 'Graphics' menu? This might work better than saving it in a project.

I know but I am not the only one using this lower third... I am sharing it with 4 more people and not all have Premiere CC 2018... This is the only way I found that works for us.

Is this a Type Tool lower third or a Legacy Title Tool?
