Lower Thirds Mask on Nested Sequence

New Here ,
Jul 20, 2018 Jul 20, 2018

Hope all is well and i'm new here.

Im creating a video project and i'm doing a lower third using Adobe Premier CC.

I'm trying to animate the lower third using a nested sequence then using a mask to hide then appear but when I put the mask on top of my name, it does not hide it suppose to. When I did the font, I used a blueish color on my first name. When I hover the mask, the first name only changes back to white so I have no idea what is going on. Screen shots are below. Please assist, thanks!

That's a hard way to do it. Use the new graphics stuff in the Essential Graphics Panel to create the graphics, then just select elements of your graphics in the Effects Control panel and keyframe for opacity.

What is below the nested sequence on the timeline? Post a screen shot of the timeline area you are working on.

I'd recommend studying up on animations of Essential Graphics things. Easier and faster ... for your next project.

Just to inform everyone that on V1 on the timeline, I linked the .mov file with After Effects. The footage is grainy. There is a small white box near the mask which appeared after sharpin the footage a bit. Not sure if that is causing the mask issue.

Do your animated lower third in a separate sequence. When finished add to main timeline as nest.

GabrielR,

Did you finish your title effect yet? Did you try what Ann suggested? What she was saying is to create the title in its own sequence, then drag that title sequence into the main sequence as if it were a clip. Let us know if that worked for you.

Thanks,
Kevin
