Making Custom Metadata Layout Default on Startup

New Here ,
May 31, 2018 May 31, 2018

Hey All,

I have customized my Metadata fields in my List View and saved it as a custom layout. Every time I start up a new project it defaults back to another layout. Is there any way to have my custom layout open on every new project instead of having to load my custom preset every time? If it was just me using this edit suite it wouldn't be an issue to change it each time, but we have many editors that use this suite that are not as fluent in changing feature such as this, also it saves time to just have this layout load each time.

Thanks in advance!!

CB

I think you'll have to change it every time.

Is this still the same, 3 years later?

I've also been waiting YEARS for this feature to be added.

Hey all,

I'm also having this issue - I've created my my custom Metadata Display layout but have to load it into each panel. Is there a way to at least set it as the default layout throughout one entire project?

Thanks!

Madness!
...but at least is there a way to write a "macro" that selects it and runs automatically at startup?

I believe that metadata is saved with the Workspace. Make sure you have the metadata setup as you like then save your workspace. You should make sure your Windows/Workspaces/Import Workspace from Projects is unchecked.

No, I'm afraid not. I'm always careful to save the Workspace when making changes.

I have the following issues with the Workspace:

  1.  The Metadata Display preset (that I have saved) is not saved with the Workspace (although it does seem to be saved with the Project - even though Windows/Workspaces/Import Workspace from Projects is unchecked);
  2.  The Project panel location is not the one I saved in the Workspace when I restart Premiere Pro;
  3.  The Panel Group containing the (now moved) Project panel is resized when I restart Premiere Pro.
