Dear all,
I am trying to isolate the skin colour of a person being interviewed in a shot in the Vectorscope YUV.
I am trying to do this by creating a shape with the pen under Opacity in Effects Control.
When I watch tutorials online, as soon as they do the final click for the shape, the rest of the frame turns black, so that the skin colour is then isolated. This is not happening for me.
Attached is what I get... no black outside the shape!
Any ideas?
Thank you
Toggle the Opacity Effect on. In your example it is set to the Off position.

Thanks for the notes and screenshot. Can you send us screenshots of your Effect Controls panel and Timeline? That might help. I hope the community can assist.
Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks Kevin,
In fact, I have just done it on a different frame... as below...
And then it switches automatically to this when I do it... the above is a scaled picture
I have not included the top of the frame to preserve the individuals' privacy.
PS. I have two dust & scratch masks on the image... it was not mean who filmed it!
Thank you
Georgina

You can also try it with the rectangle instead of the pen, for a test. That eliminates have to get the mask right.

Thank you Richard. Good point! I must have set it to off as I was playing around... Even if I do have it set to 'ON', I have the same outcome.

What is Restart?
Turn on Opacity, turn off Dust and Scratches.
Show the entire ECP incl the names in the top. Dont show just half.

Very strange... I made a sub-sequence as all in all it is a 40 minute video, and then it worked! So thank you everyone! I suppose sometimes machines have a mind of their own (and I probabaly confused it along the way).
Very best
