New to Premiere Pro, so just finding my feet!

I have added a mask to a video track, but I only want it to effect the first track below, and not any other tracks below the desired effected track, is this possible, and if so how?

Thanks

There are many ways to add a mask.

You need to post some screenshots (effect controls/timeline) showing us what you are doing.

In 1.jpg I have added a mask to a graphic with an opacity, so that the text seen within the box is 100% white, but the text outside the box is less prominent. However, the client wants to add images behind the text and the mask effects them as shown in 2.jpg - is there a way that the mask only effects the text track and nothing else?

Difficult to see what is what.

You inverted the mask and opacity is set to 90 which makes up for the difference in intensity.

By inverting the mask you basically put a hole into the canvas revealing the underlying tracks.
