Metadata Display in Browser

I cannot see any meta data in the browser window. I've just got a new laptop and installed premiere but I cannot get it to show me any metadata in the browser. I rightclick in the bar, select meta data display, but whenever I select the data I want to see nothing happens. The only thing that I can successfully change is whether or not 'label' is displayed.
