Missing Files on Premiere Pro Home page

For the past few weeks, I've been editing some vidoes through Premiere Pro.

Whenever I open Adobe Premiere Pro on my computer, I'm greeted with the home page and or main page that displays all of my projects in a vertical manner. I haven't edited in a few days but now when I open Premiere Pro, all my projects are gone. I've recently updated the software to the 2025 version but had no issues. Although, now I can't access or find anything. To me, it looks like everything just got deleted.

Does anyone know how to fix this or find my projects?

Thanks a lot!

@Ich_Bin_Jack,

The section on the home page you are describing has the heading "Recent." Normally, it is, as you say, the last projects you opened. If, however, you reset your preferences, the list is emptied.

Your projects are still on your computer; they are just no longer shown in the recent list. First, click File -> Open Recent and see if they one(s) you want are there. Or, click "Open Project," and navigate to the folder where you saved them.

If you have trouble finding them, follow Dani's directions.

Hi @Ich_Bin_Jack,

Sorry for the frustration. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue. Please see, How do I write a bug report?

Did your recent projects disappear from the home page with the app update? Were your projects saved directly on your computer or on an external hard drive?

All of your projects should still be in the original location and folders where they were saved on your device. The default location Premiere Pro saves projects to is usually your computer's Documents folder, unless you specified a different location for them. You can also try finding your projects by searching your computer files with their saved name or searching for '.prproj', which is the file extension all Premiere Pro projects have.

Hope we can help you soon,

Dani
