While trying to edit a project using Proxies on a plane trip, I mistakenly imported the PROXY files instead of the original media into my media bin and thus onto my timeline.
I originally set my ingest setting to create the proxies, which it did. But had to restart the project. When it started to re create more proxies (same files) in the 2nd restart
I decided to just import the already encoded proxies to stop the SECOND encode process to save battery power
Now of course the project renders at too low a res to be acceptable.
Is there a way I can point the project to render the original media while mainting the edit instructions without starting over from scratch?
Thanks so much
Are the file names all identical? If so, select your current media and right-click "Make offline".
Rename the folder that media is in. Then (hopefully your folder structure is similar) you reverse the process "finding" the original media and make online. Browse to the first file, and it should reconnect to the rest.
It's the old style online/offline proxy process.

In addition to Neil's helpful comments, if the proxies are truly a lower resolution (And not just a mezzanine codec), you'll also very possibly have to change your sequence settings to match the larger resolution (go to Sequence menu -> Sequence Settings).

Try marking the proxy file as offline ( Move the proxy files somewhere else)
