.MOV exports are currupted!

When I export a .mov formated video from encoder or premiere pro, I can't play them back using any software such as quick time player. Can someone help?

Please post a screen shot of your export settings summary, like this example below:

I would start by changing your export format to progressive rather than lower interlaced.

Are you on Mac or Windows?

If on Windows did you try the steps that I posted above?

On the Mac the file needs to be converted first by QT before it can play the file (cineform codec)

On windows install VLC 2.2.0 and this plugin Kolor | CineForm VLC Plugin and you will be able to play cineform files.

If on Windows:

I would try installing the Quicktime Codecs only. Codecs only because of security problems.

Then follow these instructions:

1. Click on the Next button on the first page on the installation wizard.
2. Accept the License Agreement.
3. Select Custom install
4. Only enable QuickTime Essentials. Disable everything else.
   If you use Sony Vegas, then you also need to install the QuickTime Player.
5. Now you will be on the Destination Folder page.
   Uncheck the boxes for Install Desktop shortcuts and Automatically update QuickTime and other Apple software
6. Click on the Install button. The installation will now begin.
7. Click on the Finish button.

Then restart your apps and try playing again.
