.MTS 3D 1920x1080 convert into Left eye & Right eye or SBS or UP/DOWN (3D) 1920x1080 .MP4 to edit

3D Framed (not VR) videos:

Can I import 3D .MTS 1920x1080 files and export .MP4 left & right eye videos (or SBS or Up/Down) 3D video - same resolution?

Can the .MTS file be imported into PP or AE and exported as 3D SBS or U/D? I could not find the right settings to do this without checking VR, but then the file was distorted.

PP did not recognize the .MTS file as 3D in the viewing window or as two tracks.

Are there still (I think there used to be) settings in PP AE and other Adobe programs to work easily with non-VR 3D files?

I also could not find or create a preset that would do the conversion in Media Encoder. Is it possible?

How? What are the settings.

Thx!

I'm assuming you're able to open the .mts files in premiere.  What do they look like?  A screen grab might help.   And what are the properties for the .mts files?

The files open in .MTS in Premiere Pro looking just fine as monoscopic. When played on the cameras viewfinder they show as 3D. When transcoded to .MP4 either by exporting in Premiere Pro or using Media Encoder, they look just fine as monoscopic. When the VR button is checked, they come out distorted, but not up/down or sbs in a way that can be played correctly.

I'm guessing there's some format for .mts for 3D.   Can you open the .mts file in something like vlc?

https://www.videolan.org

If so, what does it look like?

It's been probably 6 or 7 years since I've worked in 3D and I imagine the formats and workflow have changed.  I basically figured out my own workflow to output in the format required for the various projection systems.  For the most part this was outputting each stream to it's own file...  but I did do some side by side, etc...

I'd do some googling to investigate what other editing systems are out there that might be able to deal with the files.

What's the source of the 3D .mts files?
