Hi there. I have a laptop that runs on Windows 10. No major issues with Premiere except that the laptop is old and runs slow. So yesterday I was excited to setup a new desktop that runs on Windows 11 thinking I would have a speedier experience with premiere.
Here is my issue: (I actually have two issues but this is the biggest one.) When I import an MTS file into Premiere on the new desktop, the audio portion of the file does not come in. The settings under preferences are identical to what I have on my laptop. No sound. Nadda.
It seems counter intuitive and inefficient that I would have to convert the files somewhere else to bring them into the spanking brand new version of Premiere on the Windows 11 desktop.
Another thing that is painful ( second issue) is that when I open an existing premiere file it finds files missing because I reorganized a drive. In the past the simple "locate.." has worked but now it looks like you have to select a file one by one to "link media" and then try to find the file and then hit "ok" which is tedious.
Do anyone have insights into these two problems?

Hi jamies82193288,
We're sorry about the poor experience. Can you please confirm whether the MTS file shows the audio component when loaded into the Source monitor from the Project panel? Also, when you reorganized the drive, was the folder structure of the media used in the project changed?
Thanks,
Sumeet

No, the audio does not show up- just the video portion.
As an experiment I uninstalled the latest version of premiere and installed premiere 25.2.3 because someone had suggested this. The result is that premiere crashes each time I import an mts file.
In fact now it is crashing when I import anything. It just crashed opening up an mp4. But the same mp4 was created from mts files.
I am on windows 11.

And yes the folder structure was changed.

Are you allowing enough time for the audio to conform?
I recently worked on a project with mts files, and it took about three minutes for some of them to have audio and video appear on the timeline.
What version of Premiere Pro?

Thanks. It was the newest version of Premiere. The video track appeared but the audio did not. It sounds like there's a known bug that has affected more than just me.

Hi jamies82193288,
If possible, could you please share a download link for the sample MTS media with which you are experiencing this issue? It will help us diagnose it properly.
Thanks,
Sumeet
