This is a crazy idea, but worth thinking about for the people who run this forum and want to help users who post problems.

I'll try to keep it simple.

Let's have an option ( we will now call this a FORM ) for new users to use when they come here to ask stuff.

The user has the option to use it or not. They also have the option to "save it" as part of their profile or not.

They also have the option of ( when posting a new message ) to change things ( in the form ( edit ) or in the post itself ).

The FORM IDEA:

multiple choice as much as possible to keep it simple...

what is your computer ( mac, pc, laptop, desktop)

dedicated graphics card ( internal or external ) or not.

specs of computer ram, cpu specs, OS version, storage specs

Type of ports used for external monitors, storage, etc.

Monitors and sound keyboards, mice, panels, etc... wireless or usb or what ?

sourece materials ... ( this would change in post as new camera source stuff is used ), codec, wrapper, etc.

If known, specs of source stuff ( h264 8 bit, 10 bit, bitrate, etc. )

Is a major pain in the butt to find all this info on your own computer so once you do it ONCE it would be really NICE to just hit the option to use your previous saved 'profile' so everyone knows what you got to begin with. Reading the post lets them know if anything changed, etc.

The database for the FORM could be saved or not, could be used by poster or NOT, can be edited.  THAT can be a saved profile addition to the user and can be ( as said ) used again, edited, not used in new post, or ( which is now the major majority of users ) UNKNOWN.

This would save an enormous amount of time for those who are remotely serious about learning from the experts here, cause once they go through submitting the FORM they are DONE with the basics.

This would put JOHN T out of business.. and a lot of others ... except that we need them to come up with the right multiple choices and FORM format .... so they would be extremely helpful to figure out how to do this.

🙂

Close Premiere Pro and manually delete your Media Cache and Media Cache Database. When done, open the project and wait until all assets are loaded and the Conforming of the media has finished. Do not touch the project during that process. When done, export again and report back. 🙂

How to: FAQ: How to clean (delete or trash) media cache files?
