New Pr CC19 takes 4x longer to launch than CC18

This was the case with the first build of CC19 and it's true now.  This is especially heinous if you happen on a project that crashes a lot.

I'm getting too many beachballs that spin for around a minute before going away.

New features are great, but these seem to be productivity killers.

Anybody else?

I'm on a maxed out MacPro5,1 running 10.13.6

The main issue is likely to be that the latest and previous version of PP require a 6th gen cpu, which does not exist on any MacPro. Ie, Adobe has outstripped Apple in development and we are still waiting for a viable Apple update to the desktop line. I'm on 5,1 6core, maxed out in every possible way, but am told that I don't meet requirements. I had a brief discussion with Adobe about this when the previous version came out and they said they would look into it, but of course, no more than that. It's an Apple issue, I'm afraid. We can't blame Adobe for trying to harness the best technology, whilst Apple doesn't give a stuff beyond handhelds!

Well, that's disheartening, Dominic.  I've read that High Sierra is the last build that will have CUDA support for Pr, or something similar.  That's discouraging for us who have invested in Titans and other high end GPUs to run Pr - not that any OS after the first OSX build had anything really exciting to offer - mostly just interoperability with other Apple toys.  Whoop de doo.

Apple has promised a new and improved MacPro for actual pros this year, which probably means in June at the big computer conference.  If it's $10K, Apple can expect "a huge sucking sound" as every pro Mac user remaining abandons them for good in a rush to cheaper, as capable machines elsewhere.
