** NOT RESPONDING **
Do you folks gave this problem constantly with most Adobe products? Premiere Pro / Audition etc?
Basically EVERY TIME I try to start a new project, open a project etc I have to force quit and try again. My machine is a beast, all of the software is kept up to date (windows, adobe products etc)
SPECS (cause I know you want them)
Windows 10 Pro - everything up to date
Gigabyte Designare X399 Motherboard
Intel i9 18 core processor
Corsair Vengeance 64GB RAM
Liquid Cooled
Adobe CC 2019 Suite
QNAP TVS - 128T3 40TB thunderbolt 3 server

My first thought is Step 3H below.

Yeah, I was also thinking this same thing.. This QNAP device is marketed as being able to edit directly from and I am getting the same read/write speeds to it as I do my internal drives. So frustrating because I spent SOOOO much money to be able to use this network drive ( i edit from multiple machines on the same projects sometime )

Have you compared working off of the NAS vs local drives? Would be good to isolate.
As I recall, that NAS can be configured in many ways with different connection types, etc.

I will do some more test HOWEVER the NAS im using is connected via Thunderbolt 3 and get as good if not better read/write speeds than my interal drives. Plus my C: drive is only 500GB. I could install a 2TB m.2 SSD and work from it if i needed to.

I don't see a reason why you can't use that NAS in your workflow.
First step would be to confirm whether it's the storage that's causing a slowdown (conpared to a local Pr project connected to local media)
Next step would be checking with QNAP to confirm config and settings, etc. How do you connect? NFS? SMB? etc
Does this happen every time you open a project on the NAS? How long is the hang?

Connection is NFS via a thunderbolt 3 cable. I can't even do simple functions like BROWSE when asked to where i want to save files without it taking dump.

I have that same NAS set up using NFS.
I connect on my Imac Pro via Thunderbolt 3 and my PC via 10GbE. The only major slowdowns I've noticed are when the NAS is spinning up at the start of the day.
I'm guessing that slowdown doesn't happen with other machines connected to the NAS? If this is the case, you may want to compare performance using 10GbE?

Man I would LOVE to pick your brain about your qnap device. I’ve had a terrible run with this thing. Would like to see how yours is setup. My email is astone@firstnlr.com<mailto:astone@firstnlr.com> if you don’t mind connecting.
