Opacity of still image not displaying correctly when exporting through media encoder

Hi All,
When I export sequences through media encoder, still images in which I have tweaked opaccity are not appearing as they are in my timeline. In order to add white text on top of still images and make it more readable, I often lower the opacity of the image with a layer of black below. I have done this numerous ways:
- Image on track above "Black video." ---> Lower image opacity
- Image on track above black "Color Matte" ---> Lower image opacity
- Image on track above a black .png file I created in photoshop ---> Lower image opacity
I have tried the reverse order as well (Black video/color matte/.png above image) and still get the same result.
Please see screenshots for an example of what's happening.
When I export straight from Premiere, I don't have this issue. That workaround would be mostly fine, but I'm trying to incorporate Frame.io into my workflow and Frame.io uses media encoder.
Any idea how I can fix this or a workaround?

Have you tried going into MediaEncoder's preferences, and de-selecting 'Import sequences Natively' ... ?
The other one that occasionally is a problem here is the option in seqeunce and export settings to work in "linear color" ... disabling that can help at times with graphics.

Hi Neil,
Thanks so much for your help. Unchecking "Import Sequences Natively" has solved my issue.
