option (alt) click no longer adding a keyframe to audio

I used to be able to use command-click to put a keyframe into my audio clip, but it's not longer working.  Any idea why?  And how would I enter this as a new keyboard shortcut?  I see how you enter shortcuts, but I don't see how you include a "click" as an element of a new shortcut.

    Update here - what i now see is happening is that at times I am losing all functionality in the Shift, Command, and Option keys- they just don't work in premiere, though they do work in my other applications - even when I toggle over to Photoshop (they work there, but not when i toggle back to premiere).  Any idea what might be disabling those keys?  I am using a wacom tablet, but I have already tried reloading the driver multiple times.

    I'm on Win10 w/PP 13.1.2 and Ctrl-Clicking on the adjustment line adds keyframes as always. Alt-Click does not. Not sure if it ever did.

    Be sure to check that you have the correct option selected by right-clicking the FX badge in the upper left corner of the clip:

    Instead of using ctrl+click you can use the Pentool without a modifier key.
