PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA

Hello,

I am experiencing a recurring BSOD with my Windows 11 Pro system, and I'm seeking assistance to resolve it. The problem involves a nvlddmkm.sys error that triggers a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) on my computer. The error contains: nvlddmkm.sys PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA.

I have noticed that this error occurs most frequently when I try to switch from Adobe Premiere Pro to my web browser, Adobe After Effects, or any other program using the Alt+Tab shortcut. There aren't really a lot of heavy effects on it (crop, stabilizer, lumetri color)

Premiere Pro 23.5
Operating System: Windows 11 Pro
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 (Newest available studio driver)
RAM: 32GB DDR4
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-core
Storage: Portable HDD
I have researched this issue extensively and tried various solutions:
- Went from 16gb DDR4 to 32gb DDR4
- Used the DDU and reinstalled Studio Drivers.
- Checked the HDD for any errors but nothing.
-  The HDD was used on a Mac and now on W11. So my next step is to format the HDD and try again working from there.

I tried DDU in safe mode and reinstalling the drivers but no success.

What could I try that's connected with Adobe/PP and the BSOD? Because till now it only happened when using Adobe.

My guess is that the GPU might be a little underpowered but a lot of people recommend the 1660.

I'm having the same issue, I've tried all of the steps from the NVIDIA side of things.

I've done a complete reinstall of windows, DDU, Realtek Audio Drivers rollback, and I'm still getting this crash.

In the meantime I've switched to Resolve. Super disappointing because I'm way more comfortable with premiere.

Thought I would come back with an update.

I tried the same methods as you but the thing that worked for me was clearing the media cache in Premiere Pro. There's a grayed out option that only is selectable if you have no projects open. I did that and I haven't had a crash all day (versus before it was always within 5 minutes). Hope it works for you.

Same error happened on my PC too... Did you only have to clear your media cache once, or do you have to do it every time after starting your PC / launching PP or something else?

At this point I haven't had another crash in over 24 hours after just clearing it out once. But again, I had to do the grayed out option.

I also made a new project in case it was just a borked project file

Thanks for your reply.

In the meantime I uninstalled W11 and installed W10 on it again. I will work today on some projects and if I have a BSOD, I will update this thread.

Funny how the community expert just linked through and nothing more.

Hi,
I have the same problem since a couple of days. While using adobe I got crashed every 10-20 minuts. It's only happening when I'm using adobe.
Win 11 + RTX 2070 SUPER + R9 5900X

I'm not sure, but it could start happening after some windows update, but it's not a 100%.

I tried:
- updating my bios
- updataing system (but everything was up to date)

- using DDU

- change something about allocation in windows performance settings
- installing studio driver and game ready driver also
- reinstalling adobe products and switching in another versino

Nothing worked.

Please let me know, if anybody find a solution.

What (also) worked for me was clearing the media Cache in Premiere Pro. Everything worked as it should.

@MrNorbii Since installing W10 I didn't have any blue screens anymore except for only one.
