Peak Files continuously generating.

Hello,

I'm working with audio embedded in MXF files (from a Sony FX6).

Peak Files keep generating, over and over, in a constant queue (see screengrab of my Finder folder (on Mac)).

This in turn causes "Enhance Speach" to constantly re-encode (2nd screenshot).

I can NOT edit, as I've already mixed using "Enhance Speach" (which is great TBH).

PLEASE can someone at Adobe help ASAP. I have a very patient client breathing down my neck. And am pretty ticked off at how such a basic function of an NLE (audio waveforms), is now broken in 2024!

Thanks, Ian (long time and tired Adobe customer).

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for coming back to me.

I managed to fix it, it was indeed to do with the Sony Catalyst Prepare plugin, which I removed.

It would be good if Adobe and Sony could be friends and get that plugin working, as the Sony giro metadata stabilisation is awesome.

All the best, Ian Allardyce.

Thanks for sharing your solution, @Really Nice Films Ltd.! I hope to share it with others; this post will significantly help. I do not see a feature request for the stabilization you can get from Catalyst. Feel free to create a feature request, and I will advocate for you.

Take Care,
Kevin

We work closely with Sony, and have communicated with them around this issue.

Hello, @Really Nice Films Ltd.,

Thanks for the bug report. I'm Kevin from Adobe support, a mod here. Thanks for using Premiere Pro.

I'm unfamiliar with your issue, so it's not normal. I hope I can help you. My first suspicion is related to macOS file backup via iCloud. Is anything like that enabled on your Mac? Let me know.

Otherwise, basic troubleshooting could help. Press the Shift key at launch and enable the options in the Reset Options dialog box. Preferences must be reset, so beware of any customizations you make. Deleting the media cache can also solve issues.

Please let the team know if resetting options or turning iCloud off does not help.

The team may need more information about your system and media. See, How do I write a bug report?

I hope the team will respond soon. I apologize for the frustration.

Thank You,

Kevin
