whenever i do multicam edits the playback barely works at all
im working with 25fps 1080p footage, and anywhere from 5 - 9 cameras.
H.264 footage, with no color grades or effects at this point in the edit.
it barely plays back at all, i have to stop it every half a second and wait in order to play it again.
its workable, but very unpleasant to use, and hampers the editing abilitiy aswell.
any ideas how i can improve this? i have the program monitor set to 1/4 which helps a little, but not a whole lot.

You would start showing us the tech specs of your system and video container and codec. Depending of this maybe you have to work with Proxies.

Might want to consider Proxies or convert footage to a more manageable format.

Do it! And you will notice the difference. Remember that you are reading up to 9 videos at the same time and you need a lot of datarate.

I would go with a smart render workflow, thats what i used in TV shows I match my preview codec to the one from my proxys and runs smoothly.
