Playback resolution is stuck on full

In adobe premiere my playback resolution isn’t stuck on full. It’s very frustrating cause it’s too laggy to finish editing a music video I am making for a friend...

how do i remedy this?

the other options like 1/2 or 1/4 just show up as light grey and I can’t click them.

What format/codec and what framerate and frame-size?

Idk how that is relevant. I just want to cut it down to 1/4 so I can actually edit clips without lagging

The resolution setting is related to the codec/framesize.

What are your comp. specs. Your machine might not be up for the task.
