PP 2015.4 (v10.4) broke Lagarith encoded files

Was prompted to log in to Creative Cloud this morning to authenticate Premiere.  ?  Seems I'm now running 2015.4 whereas last night I was running 2015.3.  Beyond the fact I don't have updates enabled that seems WACKO-NUTS but we'll leave that for a second.

So now any project I open that used a file encoded with Lagarith is showing as offline.  Not helpful.

So I go to link them again (losing links to existing files seems to have been the norm on 2015.3) and after linking them I get

Error Message

The importer reported a generic error

We've all got deadlines folks--mine are slamming down on me before the broadcasters shutter for the holidays.  No idea how my PP updated, but how do I fix this...and fast?

Thx.

On a side note, there actually is no option to update automatically, even if you wanted to.  All upgrades and updates to CC software are manually initiated.  The only possible way to move from .3 to .4 in on purpose.  Someone clicked on the blue Update box.

There are 3 other people with access to this workstation, and they all swear up and down they didn't click anything.

Truthfully that might have more to do with the look in my eyes at the time--I suppose no sane individual would have plead mea culpa gazing into those super novas of fury.

Cloud, I laughed out loud at your "super novas" and "like the sound" comments. Unrelated to video editing, I never did find out which employee clicked the "upgrade windows 10" when we weren't ready. An entire roll of receipt paper on the floor!

Glad those got a laugh--we all need a degree of levity approaching the holidays.

I almost can't blame people for upgrading to 10.  At one point, closing the upgrade box by hitting "X" actually began the upgrade process.  At least if I worked for you that would be my story.

As a younger man I used to have upgraditis.  Now when I occasionally stumble upon the perfect harmony of Windows, Adobe, Nvidia and Decklink drivers I want to lock them down.

2015.4 is a "minor" update from the 2015.3 version. Confusing that Adobe chose to break their naming for the one build series, as 2015.0/1/2 were 9.x builds, 2015.3/4 10.x builds, and the 2017 is an 11.x build. That said ...

I'm puzzled at the minor update breaking the use of Lagarith codecs ... but just to get you going, I'm wondering at this point if perhaps re-installing the codecs would make them "visible" to 2015.4  ... here's the "official" website of Lagarith ...

Reinstalling Lagarith now allows me to relink the files successfully.  However opening a project with files within it with that codec still shows them all offline.  Linking one does not relink the others...

I should add that AME 2015.4 opens and converts them just fine.  The files are fine.

Dear god, someone marked this as the correct answer.

No--the FILES are fine.  PP 2015.3 imported them just fine.  AME 2015.4 can open them just fine.  PP 2015.4 chokes on them.

This has not been answered.
