PP CS6 not detecting my NVidea Graphics card

I am hoping someone might be able to assist with my problem. My Premiere Pro CS6 does not appear to be detecting my NVidea GeForce GTX 460 Graphics Card. Under Premiere Pro project settings there is only one option “Mercury Playback Engine Software Only” which is greyed out, and there is not the option of “GPU accelerated (CUDA)” This results in extremely long encoding times in exporting a movie … a couple of days instead of a couple of hours. As far as I’m aware the GTX 460 is CUDA compliant so it might just be a CS6 setting that needs adjusting. I would like to perhaps hear from others who have this card successfully working with CS6 so any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated … many thanks 😊

The 460 is not supported, the 470 is.

Add follow text to the cuda_supported_card.txt in the root of Premiere.

GeForce GTX 460

If that does not work add the name Nvidia to the line:

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460

Thanks for this. I manage to open up the file "cuda_support_cards.txt" and I add "GeForce GTX 460" However, when I click "save" it asks me if I want to replace the old existing file ... I say "Yes" and it says "Access is denied" I am presuming it is because it is a C Drive windowns file. Any ideas how I can get access to add this graphics card?
