Precision editing and trimming?

New Here ,
Jan 08, 2018 Jan 08, 2018

Is it possible to edit across tracks in opposite directions simultaneously, AKA asynchronous trimming, like you can do in Avid and FCP? And is it possible to use the slip tool on linked tracks (audio & video) while scrubbing the audio at the same time?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Async trimming is possible, similar to fcp7 slightly more clunky than avid (in selection & operation). Use command & click to select multiple edits

That was the first thing that I tried, still was not able to choose the edits that I want to trim in different directions.

Remember it won't 'roll trim' filler in the way you might expect - you need to be in ripple trim. (Shift + Cmd + select point)

And adjusting the 'view point' of the trim is a PITA. Screen capture...

Shift+Cmd+select. That’s helpful to know, thsnks so much. I did try a bunch of different combinations but couldn’t figure it out. Would you also be able to tell me if I can scrub the audio while using the slip/slide tool? Thanks again.
